MAP PRESENT, 516pp., engraved frontispiece, 30 pg. appendix with clippings from Texas newspapers includes information on runaway slaves and slave auction. Folding map is fine. Only a few pages have foxing. Original gilt-stamped and blank embossed brown cloth beginning to wear, red printed yellow endpapers advertising reviews of author's previous work " A Journey in the Seaboard Slave States", cloth at head and heel of spine wearing off. Gilt on spine all present and legible. Previous owner's neat name on half title page "Kinsley F.Bingham." Initials and last name also appear in faint pencil at top of title page.
